SCOUT SUNDAY

at Pleasantdale Presbyterian

Troop meetings are held at Hazel Avenue School on Friday evenings at 7:15 pm. The Troop is a youth run organization stressing leadership, service, duty to God and Country, education, outdoor skills, and high adventure. Our troop has a fine reputation for scout craft skills and community service. Many of our scouts have reached the rank of Eagle Scout.

Our troop maintains a quality advancement program for all ranks and skills. Youth members lead the troop in all areas of activities and instruction. Youth members may explore special areas of interest in the merit badge program in addition to working on rank advancement. Regular outings are held involving camping, hiking, climbing, rafting, canoeing, nature, education, history and citizenship.

Our Troop has visited many states, and traveled to Mexico in 2003. Our scouts are also involved in the Order of the Arrow. The Order of the Arrow is a group of Honor Campers with exceptional outdoor skills and a desire to serve others. Our scouts regularly assist at our Council camps with maintenance projects and new construction. Several of our members serve on camp staff during the summer. AdAug 14ult members are supportive of the youth programs. They serve as merit badge counselors and other adult leader positions.
